Combat is when you attack or are being attacked from hostile enemies.
Cyberpunk 2077[]
There are two types of combat in Cyberpunk 2077, ranged and melee. For most enemies, both ranged and melee combat can be used. The enemies themselves also use ranged or melee combat. Enemies do not usually scale in level with your character, so a level 3 enemy will stay level 3 no matter what level you are when engaging them.
Ranged[]
Ranged combat is either using ranged cybernetics or different ranged weapons to attack hostiles. There are three different types of weapons, Power Weapons, Tech Weapons, and Smart Weapons. The ranged combat itself is a mix between easy to aim and twitch based combat.
Power Weapons are most like traditional weapons. These weapons usually very powerful and usually stagger enemies. Can charge weapon for powerful shots.
Tech Weapons are most like traditional sci-fi weapons. Tech weapons have highest the penetration out of the three.
Smart Weapons track and follow different enemies. These are usually the easiest weapons to use in the game, and can be used without having to aim well.
Melee[]
Melee combat is either using melee cybernetics or a variety of melee weapons found in the game.
